Overview
The Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering program is intended to prepare students to apply engineering fundamentals and principles to challenges in the medical industry, medical processes, and healthcare management associated with this engineering field. The program is interdisciplinary in two ways.
First, it permits professionals with different engineering backgrounds to pursue a graduate degree in Biomedical Engineering. Second, students can choose from an array of areas of study across various disciplines, such as biological systems, healthcare management, and regulatory affairs, to complete the master’s program.
The Master’s Program in Biomedical Engineering offers the opportunity to pursue courses related to the Biomedical Industry Manufacturing or Processes sectors and in Healthcare Systems to serve a wide range of companies or service organizations.
The graduate from this program will qualify for managerial, supervisory, technical, or Research and Development (R&D) positions. The graduate could pursue these positions in manufacturing, research, or service organizations within high-technology operational facilities or private or public sector service functions.

Faculty
The program will rely on both Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico faculty and adjunct faculty knowledgeable in bioscience, pharmaceutical processes, and medicine. These faculty members are qualified and interested in teaching in the Biomedical Engineering program.
These faculty dominate the theoretical aspects and bring to the classroom their expertise from their professional practice, giving students the advantage of obtaining skills that will help them excel in their work even before graduating.

1. COMPLETE THE ONLINE APPLICATION
Our application is located online. Prospective applicants should indicate their preferred academic area when they inquire about admission. Candidates may apply for admission in any academic term.
Note: Non-USA citizens must submit a copy of their immigration status.
2. PAY ADMISSION FEE
All candidates pay an admission fee (non-refundable).
3. SUBMIT OFFICIAL ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPT
Submit an official academic transcript directly from the university where the applicant obtained the bachelor’s degree and a Graduation Certificate that includes the graduation general grade point average to the Graduate Affairs Office.
* Students who completed their Bachelor’s degree in our Institution can skip this step, as the Graduate Affairs Office conducts it.
4. SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE OR PASSPORT
Submit a color copy of the birth certificate or valid passport.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of this program will be eligible for roles in management, supervision, technology, or Research and Development (R&D). These opportunities extend to manufacturing, research, or service positions, encompassing high-tech operational facilities and service functions in both public and private sectors.
