In 2005, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education reaccredited the institution, and on November 18, 2010, reaffirmed it. In 2010, PUPR submitted the Periodic Review Report and was commended for the evaluation results. PUPR was reaccredited in 2015; the next accreditation will be in 2023.

ABET Accredited Programs

All engineering and surveying academic programs meet the requirements so that graduates can apply for the fundamentals of engineering examination within any state of the United States and its territories. ABET does the verification, trained evaluators review and accredit programs in their respective disciplines and are members of professional associations at the national level.

Therefore, an engineering and surveying graduate from Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico can aspire to be licensed in any state and territory of the United States because ABET accredits our programs.

In 2009, NAAB accredited the Bachelor of Architecture. The next accreditation visit will be in 2023.

All 55 United States jurisdictions accept a NAAB-accredited architecture degree as evidence of compliance with education requirements for licensing.

Therefore, an architecture graduate from Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico can aspire to be licensed in any state and territory of the United States because NAAB accredits our programs.

National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA)

Universidad Politécnica de Puerto Rico (UPPR) has been approved to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements. NC-SARA is a voluntary, regional approach to state oversight of postsecondary distance education.
