Description:

The library is located in the Administrative Office building. It has a capacity for 31 students and maximum capacity of 50 occupants. Its collection consists of individual study areas, circulation, reserves, reference books, and Interlibrary Loans.

Accreditation:

The library takes part actively in the processes of licenses and accreditation for which the Institution holds. The library works with the research committees to prepare reports of information that is compiled. In addition, the library holds consultative meetings.

Mission:

Our mission is to offer the university community the best services of information to achieve the academic excellence and to develop leaders with the necessary skills that will allow them to serve the greater community of Orlando with competence.

Schedules:

Judith Negrón, MaED - Library Technician and Placement Officer. Available: Monday through Thursday from 1:00 P.M to 10:00 P.M, and Saturday from 9:00 A.M to 1:00 P.M (Please Note: The Library remains open daily from Monday through Thursday from 10:00 A.M to 10:00 P.M, Friday from 9:00 A.M to 3:00 P.M and Saturdays from 9:00 A.M to 1:00 P.M for your convenience)..

Circulation:

Here the students will find a general collection of informative resources organized with the system used by the Library of Congress. The resources are available for the students, faculty and staff to request and use outside the library.

Reserve:

The Reserve collection contains textbooks and materials designated by the University faculty as required reading for specific courses.

Reference:

The non-circulating collection includes indexes, bibliographies, directories, and encyclopedias. Assistance for all Reference Services is available from the Circulation Desk most of the hours that the Library is open.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL):

Books owned by other libraries may be obtained through interlibrary loan. An interlibrary loan request is made through the library circulation desk. The requestor must be a registered borrower in good standing. Requested material will take approximately 3-7 days to arrive. Material that cannot be obtained through an interlibrary loan may be borrowed from another library through Interlibrary Loan. Interlibrary Loan forms and instructions are available on the Library’s home page at http://www.pupr.edu/library.

Important Information:

In August academic year 2007-2008, the Library will initiate the service of electronic reserve. There will be eliminating the printed material that the teachers leave in the area of Reserve to complement the faculty course. This material known as a vertical file will be replaced with information in electronic access format across the platform that uses education distantly called "Blackboard".
