Students and graduates from the ECECS Department keep reaping the fruits of their hard work. Dr. Othoniel Rodríguez, ECECS Department Chair, is happy to report that this summer we have had success in placing many of our students in incomparable settings which will provide opportunities for their development:
Brahim Piqué who had already been a NASA intern, has been named recipient of the highly competitive NASA Motivating Undergraduates in Science and Technology (MUST) award. As a result, Mr. Piqué will be provided partial tuition scholarship, mentorship, professional development, and a NASA internship. This summer he will be working on models at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Carola García has been selected as an intern for the prestigious Oak Ridge National Laboratory. She is working with the Sensors and Controls team for the Measurement Science and Systems Engineering Division under Dr. Roger Kisner’s supervision. She is part of the team in charge of designing embedded sensors and controls systems for a switched reluctance motor to be placed in a pump for a Molten Salt Loop.
Christian Santana has been selected as a research undergraduate investigator at Iowa State University’s Virtual Reality Application Center. He will be in Ames for ten weeks working on the Cybersickness team.
Edaleen Cruz has been hired by the renowned Blizzard Entertainment Company.
Victor Rivera has been selected as an intern for the Department of Homeland Security.
Marcela González has been selected as an intern for Accenture and she will work in the Washington DC area.
Andrew Navas participated in the PhD Pipeline Program at The Fuqua School of Business, Duke University.
