The Placement Services provides graduate candidates and graduates with resources available that will help them obtain permanent, summer or temporary employment. The services available include the arrangement of on campus/out campus interviews with prospective employers, the coordination of employer presentations or information sessions and job referrals. The office has skilled personnel who can offer individual or group help in revising resumes and assisting in the preparation of cover letters, employment applications, thank you letter, etc.
A graduate candidate or graduates file facilitates the job search process. Each senior, degree seeking graduate student, and PUPR alumnus who register with the office establishes a credential file. The file includes the resume and a candidate registration form. Registered individuals have access to the resume referral program, the full-time employment opportunities information, and on campus interviews. Other job search resources include: workshops on resume writing, interview skills, job search strategies, current employment search tips and employment trends. Other reference resources available include: reference books, videos, articles, salary information, company literature, employer directories, and other occupational information. Part-time employment opportunities are available for currently enrolled students. Gaining work experience while in school can be a big advantage upon graduation.
